About the Experience
Nashik’s Architectural landscape is a fascinating blend of ancient temples, historical structures and modern development. The Panchavati ghats on the banks of the Godavari river is a spiritual centre where the much revered Kumbh mela culminates. Yet this city cannot be typecast just as another spiritual centre, it is also an automotive manufacturing hub and lately it has also got the tag of being the wine capital of India. This is the context in which many of the designs here have evolved and in this itinerary we attempt to capture the essence of this evolution with interactive sessions, walks and visits with the local Architectural practitioners. Nashik offers a perspective of how the heritage that developed over centuries as a spiritual centre has inspired modernism.
